The riverside cabins at Punakaiki Beach Camp were absolutely breathtaking! The views of the Paparoa National park were like something out of a postcard. I felt so at peace waking up to those stunning sights every morning. It was truly a nature lover's paradise.
Personally, I found the standard cabins a bit cramped for my liking, with one Queen bed and one set of bunks. However, I can see how this setup would be ideal for families or groups traveling together.

I had a really enjoyable stay at this family hotel. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The location was lovely, right next to the river. The atmosphere created at the hotel was family-friendly. The room was fairly quiet and clean, with a comfortable double bed. I had a good night's sleep. The venue was conveniently located near the pancake rocks at high tide and a lovely pub. Additionally, it was only a 10-minute drive from Punakaiki Beach.

We had a blast trying out the Stand Up Paddle boards and E-Bike Cruiser rentals. We cruised into the heart of the Paparoa National Park and it was like stepping into another world! The rainforest was so lush and filled with cool ferns and towering palm trees. The Tāiko Festival was the highlight, with mind-blowing performances that left us speechless!
The only thing we wished for was an on-site nightclub or party area for young people like us. It would have been the ultimate place to keep the fun going after exploring the incredible sights.

I had a fantastic stay at this beach camp. The location was incredible, right by the beach, and it was conveniently next door to a pub that served delicious food. The camp had good kitchen facilities, with the option of borrowing plates and pots if needed, and they provided dish liquid. The bathrooms were clean and had good hot water, although the showers had short button presses. The rooms were basic but clean and comfortable, and there was a small electric heater to take off the chill. The staff were friendly and helpful, and Mel went above and beyond to assist me when I needed to change my reservation. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.
Nothing bad to say.

We were bike riders, and Punakaiki Beach Camp was the perfect spot for us. The location by the sea and the beautiful bush behind created an absolutely beautiful scenery. The warm and spacious family cabin provided a lovely place to stay with a nice view. We also appreciated the drying/airing room for wet clothes, especially with the fire going. The proximity of the river and beach, as well as the Pancake Rocks, made it easy for us to explore and enjoy the outdoors. And having a small fridge available in the cabin was a convenient feature.
We felt well taken care off, with no complaints at all.

The location was absolutely mind-blowing, nestled in the most pristine area by the beach and cliffs. The cabin was clean and super comfy, with a little heater that kept us warm on windy nights. We even had an outdoor table to enjoy dinner in the jaw-dropping afternoon sun. The views from our cabin were truly wonderful, providing total privacy amidst the beautiful surroundings. It was a great base for exploring the National Park, beach, blowholes, and local pub. The kitchen facilities were good, with the option to borrow plates and pots if needed. The bathrooms were clean and had good hot water, although the showers required a short button press. The rooms were basic, but clean and comfortable, with a nice electric heater to take off the chill. The wooden deck by the river was a real highlight. a great place to stay and would definitely recommend it to others.

The location of this camp was great, right by the stone beach and with a short walk to the Punakaiki Rocks. the sunsets were absolutely stunning, providing a magical experience. Not to mention, the friendly and welcoming staff made the stay even more enjoyable.
There were a few drawbacks to this camp. the showers and kitchen area were clean and tidy, but the advertised WiFi was practically useless.
